Job summary

Outsource UK is seeking an electrically biased designer to support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototype machines. You will take ownership of electrical design deliverables and work across disciplines to turn system requirements into practical, build-ready solutions.

Based on site in Peterborough, the role requires experience in machine or vehicle electrical systems, and proficiency in Creo for electrical harness design, routing, and drawings.

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience within product development, with machine or vehicle systems.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for industrial or electrified systems.
• Proficiency in Creo for electrical harness design, routing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Translate system requirements into detailed electrical designs for electrified machines.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams, harness definitions, and 3D routing.
• Ensure electrical designs integrate at machine level and resolve routing/interface constraints.
• Collaborate with project, build and validation teams throughout development.

Client: Industry leading engineering/manufacturing company
Location: Peterborough
Hourly Rate: £29.28 PAYE or £38.49 Umbrella
Duration: 12 months
Working arrangements: Fully site based

About the role:
My industry leading engineering and manufacturing client is looking for an electrically biased candidate to come in and support the development of electrified machine demonstrators and prototype machines.
You will take ownership of electrical design deliverables and work collaboratively across disciplines to turn system requirements into practical, build-ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Translate system requirements and component information into detailed electrical designs for electrified machine systems and subsystems.
• Create and maintain schematics, wiring diagrams and harness definitions, covering connectors, terminals, pinouts, splices, cable and wire specification, 3D routing, flattening and production drawings.
• Ensure electrical designs integrate effectively at machine level, resolving routing, interface and installation constraints.
• Work closely with project, build and validation teams throughout the development process.

Key skills

• Electrical design experience within a product development environment, including machine or vehicle electrical systems.
• Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, ideally for machine, vehicle, industrial or electrified systems.
• Proficiency in Creo, including electrical harness design, routing, drawings and supporting documentation.
