Job summary

Eaton in the Greater London area is seeking an experienced Design & Engineering Manager (Electrical) to lead the electrical design for mission‑critical data centre projects from concept through construction. Reporting to the EMEA Director of Engineering, you will mentor engineers, drive design quality and value engineering, and act as a client‑facing technical lead across Eaton's projects.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Master’s degree preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering electrical services for mission‑critical facilities incl. MV/LV power, transformers, UPS, standby gen.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards and best practices.
• Value engineering and integrating new technologies for cost‑effective, resilient solutions.
• AutoCAD and Revit knowledge is an advantage.
• Familiarity with edge computing and AI.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Strategic thinking to drive long‑term innovation.
• Proven ability to build teams and support engineering processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as Design Manager on data centre projects, leading the electrical design scope from concept to closeout.
• Hands-on in electrical design, owning critical design aspects for mission critical facilities.
• Lead and coordinate electrical engineers and SMEs in a multidisciplinary team.
• Manage design deliverables, resources, schedules, and quality across projects.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the DC Design & Engineering team.
• Develop and uphold electrical design quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, reports, and specs; facilitate peer reviews.
• Act as client-facing technical lead in meetings with clients, contractors, and Eaton.
• Lead value engineering, optioneering and technical decisions.
• Participate in site visits to monitor installation and commissioning matters.
• Collaborate with PM, commercial, and construction teams for outcomes.
