Zusammenfassung

Matchtech seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join a permanent team delivering renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects across the UK. The role focuses on electrical design for BESS, solar PV, wind, and MV/HV substations, collaborating with project management, engineering and civils teams.

Responsibilities include producing SLDs and earthing layouts, performing electrical studies, building network models and supporting from design through commissioning.

Qualifikationen

• Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience delivering electrical design documentation through review and approval.
• Experience on renewable energy projects (BESS, solar PV, wind) and MV/HV substations.
• Strong knowledge of electrical studies (cable sizing, load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination).
• Familiarity with UK electrical standards and industry best practice.
• Experience with relevant software: DIgSILENT, ETAP, ELEK, CYMCAP, EPLAN.
• Strong communication and cross‑disciplinary collaboration skills.
• Analytical, report writing, organizational and problem‑solving abilities.

Aufgaben

• Own development, coordination and delivery of electrical engineering deliverables for EPC and IPC projects.
• Produce and check single-line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, cable schedules and earthing layouts using AutoCAD and EPLAN.
• Prepare design basis documents, calculation reports and technical study reports.
• Carry out electrical studies including cable sizing, load flow, short‑circuit, protection coordination and arc flash.
• Build and maintain network models using DIgSILENT PowerFactory and ELEK.
• Support solar PV layout and energy yield assessments using PVsyst, PVcase and PV SOL.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with civil, structural, SCADA, controls and mechanical teams.
• Review supplier and subcontractor deliverables and support through construction and commissioning.
