Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Race Engineering and Infrastructure team on a 2-year fixed-term contract. You will design temporary power distribution systems, power infrastructure and bespoke equipment to support global race operations.

From concept to manufacture, you will produce drawings, collaborate with engineers and suppliers, and ensure designs meet safety and industry standards at events worldwide.

Qualifications

• Experience producing electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
• Solid understanding of LV power distribution systems.
• Experience turning concepts into detailed designs for manufacture.
• Experience supporting engineering projects through design, review and delivery.
• Practical approach to engineering and product development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop temporary power distribution systems and bespoke power solutions.
• Transform operational requirements into manufacturable electrical designs.
• Produce electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams and wiring schedules.
• Develop custom switchgear assemblies and UPS-backed systems.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Operations teams, suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Support design reviews, project delivery and validation activities.
• Resolve technical queries during manufacturing, build and assembly phases.
• Verify compliance with electrical, safety and industry standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
