Job summary

Gapp Search in Droitwich Spa is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer for an established international engineering and manufacturing business. The role focuses on hands-on electrical design for modular HVAC, packaged plant room and capital equipment projects, working with mechanical, controls and manufacturing teams.

You will produce electrical designs, perform load and cable sizing, prepare load schedules and protection studies, and ensure BS 7671 compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in electrical engineering with hands-on design experience.
• Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and electrical standards.
• Experience producing SLDs, cable schedules and calculations.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and equipment data with attention to detail.
• Experience using Trimble ProDesign or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical designs in line with project specs and standards.
• Carry out load, earth, and cable sizing assessments.
• Prepare load schedules, cable calculations and protection studies.
• Create single line diagrams, switchboard layouts and earthing diagrams.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671 and other standards.
• Support design reviews and maintain design records.
