Job summary

Automation Experts Ltd in Cheshire is seeking a Machine Design & Compliance Engineer to lead electrical system design for bespoke automation and packaging machinery. You will produce schematics, select components, ensure compliance with international standards, and develop safety documentation throughout project delivery.

The role offers ownership of technical decisions within cross-functional teams, with opportunities to influence machine safety, performance and design practices in a growing

Qualifications

• Electrical design for machinery and automation projects.
• Experience with Electrical CAD software, preferably EPLAN.
• Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives and AC inverter technologies.
• Familiarity with CE marking and international electrical standards.
• Understanding of functional safety standards (EN 13849-1).

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for bespoke machinery and packaging equipment.
• Produce electrical schematics and wiring diagrams (EPLAN).
• Ensure designs meet international electrical and machinery standards.
• Develop and maintain electrical safety/compliance documentation.
• Create electrical panel layouts and system architectures.
• Collaborate with mechanical, controls and manufacturing teams throughout project delivery.
• Produce technical documentation for manufacturing, installation and customer use.
