Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd in Southampton is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join TE-Tech Process Solutions. You will design, manage and deliver medium-complexity projects, mentor junior staff, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality and sustainability.

The role requires independent judgment, technical acumen, and leadership to oversee scopes, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communications. A strong engineering background and professional registration are preferred.

Qualifications

• Higher Education (NVQ+) is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline is desirable (Master’s preferred).
• Membership of a Professional Engineering Institution is desirable.
• CSCS Card or SHEA Water Qualification is desirable.
• EUSR Water Hygiene Qualification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Designs complete projects, systems, components, or processes.
• Prepares comprehensive specifications, drawings, and project documentation.
• Designs and conducts site investigations; analyzes and interprets survey data.
• Formulates and solves engineering problems using standard and adapted methods.
• Oversees moderate projects or contributes to specific parts of large-scale projects.
• Assigns tasks to and directs junior members of project team and mentors staff.
