Job summary

Horizon Instruments Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a design engineer to create control panels and electrical systems for our special purpose machines. You will design, test and document systems that meet safety and regulatory standards, liaising with the Technical Director throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires knowledge of design principles, standards and regulations, and proficiency with ePlan, AutoCAD Electrical and Excel.

Qualifications

• Proven knowledge of design principles, standards, and regulations.
• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Familiar with ePlan, AutoCAD Electrical and Excel software.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with the Technical Director (Controls) at all stages of the design, build and test.
• Assist in the project planning process.
• Prepare electrical drawings and wiring information for a project.
• Ensure systems comply with latest statutory requirements.
• Carry out the design of electrical control systems per the specification.
• Support testing of completed systems and document testing per IMS requirements.
• Check colleagues’ work when necessary and mentor junior staff.
