Job summary

Holt Engineering in Poole is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to deliver electrical design activity across complex engineered products and projects. You will produce concept and detailed designs and support design control, verification, manufacture and technical documentation.

The role requires around 5 years of electrical/electronic design experience, and an engineering degree or equivalent. Working knowledge of CAD software and ability to collaborate across engineering teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical/electronic design within engineering/manufacturing.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant industry experience in electrical/electronic design.
• Engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of electrical CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical design activity for new and existing products.
• Produce concept designs and detailed design information for project and product work.
• Ensure designs meet customer, legislative, quality, programme and cost requirements.
• Work in line with internal design control procedures and engineering standards.
• Support design verification, development, manufacture and technical release activity.
• Provide guidance to engineers and other colleagues on electrical design matters.
• Maintain a strong understanding of relevant electrical technology, products and design practice.
• Provide technical support for new business activity and prepare supporting documentation.
• Support pricing and quotation activity with estimated cost information where required.
• Report on technical progress, resource use and project design activity.
• Identify and support improvements to design procedures, efficiency, safety and cost.
• Work closely with project, engineering, manufacturing and wider business teams.
• Support work at the Poole site and occasionally other locations where required.
