An established industry player is seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their dynamic MEP design team. In this role, you will be responsible for detailed electrical design across various projects, ensuring compliance with current building regulations and standards. You will collaborate closely with project leads and team members, promoting a positive work environment while managing your design workloads effectively. An Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design, reporting on workloads and priorities, internal project coordination, administration, and some client liaison. Assisting the project lead in advising on resourcing and workload within the project team, setting and managing design goals with project seniors, attending weekly team meetings, and seeking ways to improve the team's efficiency and productivity.
Promote a can-do attitude within the business, ensuring this is instilled in every project and shared by all within the MEP design team.
The Engineer must be able to operate on multiple projects, organize themselves to meet all deadlines agreed upon with the project lead, and be responsible for full detailed electrical design, completing these exercises independently with support from the project lead.
The Engineer is responsible for calculations to validate the design of electrical systems, including domestic, ventilation, heating, and cooling systems.
The Engineer should coordinate design efforts with electrical design team members.
The Engineer is expected to participate in design team meetings as required, report progress and actions to the wider team, and collaborate with the project lead.
The Engineer must manage personal design workloads, providing completed work to the Project Lead for QA in a timely manner, aligning with client target dates.
The Engineer should actively participate in design verification, including self-checking their work before issuing for QA and reviewing work of graduate engineers.
The Engineer should have a working understanding of current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British Standards, BSRIA documentation, and other relevant design guides for the building services industry.
Proficiency in IT, with knowledge of office software, AutoCAD, RELUX, and DiaLUX, is required.
The Engineer should be working towards CIBSE membership accreditation.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is expected to ensure sufficient exposure to technical aspects of the role and industry understanding.
