Job summary

Samuel Frank is recruiting an Electrical Design Engineer in Gloucester to focus on electrical design of standard and bespoke automated machinery used worldwide. You'll work with a Principal Engineer to learn company standards and progress within a small team.

The role requires AutoCAD Electrical experience and at least 12 months in electrical design for automation; safety, CE compliance knowledge is advantageous. Attractive benefits accompany the package.

Qualifications

• AutoCAD Electrical experience is essential.
• At least 12 months' electrical design experience in automated machinery.
• Understanding of machinery safety, risk assessments and CE compliance would be useful.
• Ability to work accurately within a small electrical design team.

Responsibilities

• Producing electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
• Creating control-panel and cabinet layouts
• Producing bills of materials, termination lists and supporting technical documentation
• Selecting electrical components with regard to availability, obsolescence, standardisation and cost
• Collaborating with mechanical, software and pneumatic engineers
• Presenting electrical designs during project design reviews
• Supporting electrical risk assessments, machine safety and CE compliance
• Identifying and reporting technical risks
• Managing design changes and maintaining documentation
• Providing occasional customer support, including fault-finding
