Job summary

Samuel Frank in Gloucester is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical systems for standard and bespoke automated machinery used worldwide. The role covers assembly/test equipment, robotic loading cells, casting machinery, and automated production systems.

This position may suit someone with as little as 12 months' relevant experience if they already use AutoCAD Electrical. You will learn under a patient Principal Engineer and grow toward senior roles within the team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical design for automated machinery.
• Ability to produce electrical schematics and control-panel layouts.
• Familiarity with machinery safety, CE compliance and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Create control-panel and cabinet layouts.
• Produce bills of materials, termination lists and technical docs.
• Select components with cost, availability and obsolescence in mind.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software and pneumatic engineers.
• Present designs in project reviews and support risk assessments.
