Job summary

ASA Recruitment Ltd seeks an Electrical PV Design Engineer on a predominantly remote basis for residential Solar PV projects across the UK.

You will design AC/DC PV systems, create diagrams, perform cable sizing and electrical calculations, and ensure compliance with UK regs while collaborating with architects, engineers and contractors through handover.

The role emphasizes practical, safe designs from concept to construction and handover, with travel to meetings/site visits about twice per month.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree, HNC/HND or equivalent.
• Solar PV design experience required.
• 2D/3D AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with PV design software PV*SOL, PVsyst, SolarEdge Designer, PVcase.
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations.
• Ability to interpret architectural and electrical drawings.
• Experience designing domestic/new-build residential PV systems.

Electrical PV Design Engineer

£35,000 – £55,000 | Remote | Solar PV

ASA Recruitment is working on behalf of a growing renewable energy business to recruit an Electrical PV Design Engineer. This is a predominantly remote position focused on the design and technical delivery of Solar PV systems across new-build residential developments.

The ideal salary is around £45,000, although there is flexibility depending on experience, with both developing Engineers and more senior candidates considered.

The Role

You will produce safe, compliant and practical electrical designs for Solar PV systems, taking projects from initial concept through construction, revisions and final handover.

The majority of projects involve new-build residential developments and domestic-scale PV systems, rather than large commercial or utility-scale installations.

What We're Looking For

Candidates must have an Electrical Engineering degree, HNC/HND or other relevant electrical engineering qualification.

• Solar PV design experience
• 2D and 3D AutoCAD experience
• Experience with PV design software such as PV*SOL, PVsyst, SolarEdge Designer, PVcase or similar
• Understanding of electrical calculations and technical drawings
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations
• Ability to interpret architectural and electrical drawings

Experience designing domestic or new-build residential Solar PV systems would be particularly relevant.

The position is fully remote, with travel for meetings/site visits expected approximately twice per month.

Package

• £35,000 – £55,000 Expereince depending
• Fully remote working with occasional site surveys or in person meetings.
