Meraki 2 Ltd t/as Magnus Search is seeking a Senior Electrician for Cardiff and South Wales, focusing on domestic electrical installations, solar PV systems and fault finding. You will lead projects, supervise junior electricians, and ensure high safety and workmanship standards across renewable energy sites.

The role requires AM2/AM2E, 18th Edition, and BS7671 compliance, with strong communication skills and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• AM2/AM2E qualification is required.
• Extensive experience in domestic electrical installations.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification required.
• 2391 or equivalent Inspection & Testing preferred.
• Solar PV qualification and experience desirable.
• Experience installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems.
• Consumer unit upgrades, fault finding and electrical maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of solar PV, battery storage, inverters and renewables.
• Ability to supervise, mentor and support junior electricians.
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and carry out domestic electrical installations across Cardiff and South Wales.
• Oversee electrical aspects of solar PV and battery storage projects.
• Install, test, inspect, commission and certify electrical systems per BS7671.
• Conduct consumer unit replacements and remedial works.
• Diagnose and rectify faults safely and efficiently.
• Ensure work complies with BS7671 and company standards.
• Provide technical guidance to junior electricians and installation teams.
• Complete certification, reports and documentation accurately.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional service.

Salary: £45,000-£47,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

Due to continued growth and increasing project demand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Electrician to join our expanding team across Cardiff and South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled electrical professional to take on a senior position within a forward-thinking business delivering domestic renewable energy solutions. As a Senior Electrician, you will play a key role in overseeing electrical installations, supporting junior engineers, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry regulations.

The successful candidate will have strong experience in domestic electrical installations, solar PV systems, and fault finding, alongside the ability to lead projects and provide technical guidance to colleagues.

What We're Looking For

• Fully qualified Electrician with AM2 or AM2E
• Extensive experience in domestic electrical installation work
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification
• Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent preferred)
• Solar PV qualification and experience (desirable)
• Proven experience installing, testing, and commissioning electrical systems
• Experience with consumer unit upgrades, fault finding, and electrical maintenance
