Electrical Design Engineer Pontefract
Location: Pontefract
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Adept Resourcing is partnering with an organisation based in Pontefract, on the lookout for an Electrical Design Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed electrical designs and schematics for modular enclosures and power equipment
• Produce wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and technical documentation compliant with industry standards
• Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, project managers, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless design integration
• Apply knowledge of BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and other relevant electrical standards
• Review and update designs based on client specifications and project requirements
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and design optimisation to enhance product performance and manufacturability
• Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and compliance audits

Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, ideally within power generation, switchgear, or industrial enclosure sectors
• Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar)
• Understanding of electrical wiring regulations and standards (BS 7671 or equivalent)
• Ability to interpret and produce detailed technical drawings and documentation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred

Working Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 7am 4pm (Early finish on Friday)
• 40 hours per week
• Business closed on Bank Holidays and during the Christmas/New Year period
