The Role

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will support the design capability focused on electrical power distribution assets, equipment, and supervisory control and data acquisition systems. Your responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support through site visits, surveying electrical equipment, and developing installation solutions.
2. Capturing requirements, developing engineering delivery plans, and undertaking optioneering activities.
3. Producing AutoCAD 2D design drawings and various design documentation.
4. Supporting project implementation, including factory and site acceptance testing, and responding to technical queries.

Essential Experience

• Understanding electrical engineering principles for power distribution systems.
• Experience in developing designs across a typical design lifecycle.
• Ability to produce electrical engineering drawings and documents.
• Experience with high voltage/low voltage power systems, SCADA, protection systems, switchgear, transformers, and rectifiers.

Qualifications

• A Higher National Certificate or equivalent in electrical engineering or relevant experience.

Security Clearance

The candidate must be a UK national eligible for Security Check (SC) and Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) clearance.
