ASA Recruitment Ltd. represents a growing renewable energy business seeking an Electrical PV Design Engineer. This remote role focuses on designing and delivering Solar PV systems for new-build residential developments.

You will create AC/DC designs, diagrams and layouts, perform calculations and document everything for handover. Travel is limited to occasional site visits, and the position supports flexible experience levels.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent (HNC/HND)
• Experience in Solar PV design for residential/new-build projects
• Proficient with 2D/3D AutoCAD and PV design software
• Understanding of UK electrical regulations and safety standards

Responsibilities

• Produce safe, compliant electrical designs for Solar PV systems from concept to handover
• Create single-line diagrams, schematics and layouts
• Perform cable sizing, voltage drop and electrical calculations
• Prepare BOMs and technical docs for projects
• Interpret architectural drawings and house-type plans
• Support projects through design, construction and handover
• Ensure designs comply with UK electrical, MCS and DNO requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams and contractors

Electrical PV Design Engineer

£35,000 - £55,000 | Remote | Solar PV

ASA Recruitment is working on behalf of a growing renewable energy business to recruit an Electrical PV Design Engineer. This is a predominantly remote position focused on the design and technical delivery of Solar PV systems across new-build residential developments.

The ideal salary is around £45,000, although there is flexibility depending on experience, with both developing Engineers and more senior candidates considered.

The Role

You will produce safe, compliant and practical electrical designs for Solar PV systems, taking projects from initial concept through construction, revisions and final handover.

The majority of projects involve new-build residential developments and domestic-scale PV systems, rather than large commercial or utility-scale installations.

• Producing AC and DC Solar PV electrical designs
• Creating single-line diagrams, schematics and system layouts
• Cable sizing, voltage-drop and electrical calculations
• Producing roof, array, inverter and equipment layouts
• Preparing bills of materials and technical documentation
• Interpreting architectural drawings and house-type plans
• Supporting projects through design, construction and handover
• Ensuring designs comply with relevant UK electrical, MCS and DNO requirements
• Working with internal teams, contractors and other project stakeholders

What We're Looking For

Candidates must have an Electrical Engineering degree, HNC/HND or other relevant electrical engineering qualification.

You should also have:

• Solar PV design experience
• 2D and 3D AutoCAD experience
• Experience with PV design software such as PV*SOL, PVsyst, SolarEdge Designer, PVcase or similar
• Understanding of electrical calculations and technical drawings
• Knowledge of UK electrical regulations
• Ability to interpret architectural and electrical drawings

Experience designing domestic or new-build residential Solar PV systems would be particularly relevant.

The position is fully remote, with travel for meetings/site visits expected approximately twice per month.

• £35,000 - £55,000 Expereince depending
