Job summary

MTrec Technical, representing their client, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to design, validate, and integrate complex electrical systems for specialist equipment. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop architectures and ensure high-precision performance.

The role emphasizes collaboration across mechanical, software, and systems engineering, with a focus on verification, validation, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical/electronics engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical system architecture and design principles.
• Ideally, experience with motion control and high-precision motion systems.
• Good understanding of system integration, testing, verification and validation processes.
• Experience with optical systems and/or PLC-based control systems advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document complex electrical and electronic systems and architectures.
• Support the integration, testing, validation, and optimisation of prototype systems and equipment.
• Develop technical requirements and specifications and coordinate verification activities.
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Contribute to interface design including communications, cabling, and connectivity.
• Investigate and resolve design issues to improve performance and reliability.
• Coordinate external suppliers and contractors as needed.
• Provide technical support to production teams including calibration and fault finding.
• Ensure activities comply with industry standards and quality requirements.

The Job you will do:

• Design, develop, and document complex electrical and electronic systems and architectures.
• Support the integration, testing, validation, and optimisation of prototype systems and equipment.
• Develop technical requirements and specifications and coordinate associated verification and validation activities.
• Work closely with mechanical, software, systems, and electrical engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions.
• Contribute to interface design, including communications, cabling, connectivity, and component integration.
• Investigate and resolve electrical and system-level design issues to enhance product performance, reliability, and functionality.
• Manage and coordinate external suppliers, consultants, and specialist contractors where required.
• Provide technical support to production teams, including calibration, test procedures, fault finding, and technical training.
• Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.

About you:
