Mtrec Recruitment are proudly representing their bespoke services client in their search for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer. The role will be responsible for the design and validation of complex electrical systems for use within specialist equipment.
Design, develop, and document complex electrical and electronic systems and architectures.
Support the integration, testing, validation, and optimisation of prototype systems and equipment.
Develop technical requirements and specifications and coordinate associated verification and validation activities.
Work closely with mechanical, software, systems, and electrical engineers to deliver fully integrated solutions.
Contribute to interface design, including communications, cabling, connectivity, and component integration.
Investigate and resolve electrical and system-level design issues to enhance product performance, reliability, and functionality.
Manage and coordinate external suppliers, consultants, and specialist contractors where required.
Provide technical support to production teams, including calibration, test procedures, fault finding, and technical training.
Ensure all engineering activities are carried out in accordance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
Degree qualified in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent relevant engineering experience.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an electrical or electronics engineering environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic system architecture and design principles.
Ideally, you will have practical experience with motion control and high-precision motion systems.
Good understanding of system integration, testing, verification, and validation processes.
Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Understanding of relevant engineering standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Experience with optical systems and/or PLC-based control systems would be advantageous.
