Job summary

Kier Group in the UK is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join the Major Projects team, based in Liverpool or London. You will deliver sustainable, compliant electrical designs for large construction projects, collaborating with clients, architects and colleagues from concept through to construction.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and member of CIBSE or IET.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming chartered.
• Demonstrating proven capability in electrical building services engineering.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality electrical designs and specifications that meet client requirements and brief.
• Provide high level technical advice in electrical building services engineering.
• Support electrical engineering in project design meetings, establish solutions and work closely with colleagues and other design team members.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, industry standards and Kier Design standards and procedures.
• Promote and implement sustainable design solutions and develop innovative proposals to enhance the service.

Job description

We're looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to join our team based in Liverpool or London. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor.

Location: Liverpool or LondonHours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.Salary: starting from £40,000 per year

• Degree qualified in Electrical Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering and member of CIBSE or IET

• Experienced in the application of quality procedures and document control in engineering design

What will you be responsible for?

As a Electrical Design Engineer, you'll be working within the Major Projects team, supporting them in delivering sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective electrical designs for large, complex construction projects.

Working collaboratively with clients, architects, and colleagues, you'll ensure sustainable, compliant, and cost-effective design delivery from concept through to construction. You'll play a key role in bridging client needs with engineering reality, leading the electrical design team and driving innovation for high-value projects.

Your day to day will include:
