Electrical Design Engineer – Havant – up to 50k

About the role:

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating electrical designs that meet the highest standards in critical power applications. You will collaborate with project teams to ensure systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule, directly impacting the performance of vital infrastructure across the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Designing complete electrical systems, including control panels, generator controllers, and UPS systems.
2. Creating CAD drawings and schematics compliant with CDM and BS7671 standards.
3. Supporting both LV and HV applications, including site commissioning and FAT/SAT.
4. Managing projects from inception to completion, overseeing timelines and budgets.
5. Collaborating with various departments for seamless project execution.
6. Applying creativity and problem-solving skills to technical challenges.

Candidate requirements:

1. ONC/HNC (or higher) qualification in Electrical Engineering.
2. Proven experience in electrical system design, preferably including switchgear and control panels.
3. Proficiency in CAD with excellent IT skills.
4. Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
5. Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and a passion for quality.
6. PLC programming knowledge and project estimating experience are advantageous.
