Job summary

A leading principal contractor is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a 6-month rolling contract based in Southeast London. This office-based role involves working with the design team on RIBA Stage 4 Technical Design, focusing on Central Battery Units and UPSs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical design experience and 2-5 years’ experience in detailed LV designs. Job description

An opportunity has come available for an Electrical Design Engineer to work for a leading principal contractor on a 6-month rolling contract based out of Southeast London. This role is office based 5 days a week with flexibility when required.

Previous hands‑on electrical design experience is a must and around 2‑5 years' design work experience carrying out detailed electrical LV designs; the designer will be reporting to a Senior Electrical Design Engineer on a project at Heathrow.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will be working with the design team carrying out RIBA Stage 4 Technical Design to renew Central Battery Units / UPSs associated with supporting emergency lighting and telecoms. This will include but not be limited to:

• Reviewing current record and survey data for use in developing designs


• Producing the technical design including using Amtech/Trimble for LV Calculations, CMS calculations, Earthing & Bonding, Alarm Monitoring interfaces etc


• Liaising with our BIM team for 3D modelling and drawing production


• Developing migration strategies for the designs they have developed
