Job summary

ibse is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Critical Systems division, delivering reliable, energy-efficient electrical building services for mission-critical data centre projects. You will lead design delivery, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients and contractors.

The role emphasizes reliability, BIM coordination (Revit), project oversight, and development of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Substantial experience in electrical building services design within an engineering consultancy environment.
• Experience managing small to medium-sized projects and supervising engineering teams.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and associated building services design.
• Experience producing electrical calculations, drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of Revit and an understanding of BIM-based design coordination.

Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and delivery of sophisticated electrical building services systems, with particular emphasis on reliability, resilience, energy efficiency and sustainable operation.

Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take responsibility for the technical delivery of electrical design packages, coordinating with other disciplines and contributing to the successful completion of projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements

You will be an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with a strong technical background in building services engineering and the confidence to take responsibility for projects and small engineering teams.

Ideally, you will have previous experience designing electrical systems for data centres or other critical environments, although candidates with relevant experience across other technically demanding building sectors will also be considered.
