Job summary

Excelitas UK Ltd in Cambridge is seeking a skilled electrical engineer to lead systems electrical designs and actively implement them on projects, including xenon flashlamp systems.

You will support product development, assist existing fielded products, and mentor junior engineers while liaising with sub-contract suppliers to ensure quality and reliability across our photonics solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years industry experience.
• Experience in electrical system design (IEC 60204-1).
• Experience in safety design (ISO 13849-1 & 13849-2).
• Experience in fault-finding.
• Good organisation in revision control / documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Job description

Excelitas UK is the top global name in photonics-based products and solutions from ultraviolet to infrared under the Noblelight product family. Our products Systems are designed to avoid wasting energy, improve process reliability and bring more innovation in markets such as UV Disinfection for food and beverage production and fast, high temperature heating Solutions for the Composites industry.

The Primary Responsibilities Of The Role Are As Follows

• Lead systems electrical designs.
• Hands-on approach in the implementation of designs.
• Support product development of xenon flashlamp systems.
• Support existing products in the field.
• Mentor junior engineers.
• Liaise with sub-contract suppliers.

Essential

Knowledge and Experience:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years industry experience
• Experience in electrical system design (IEC 60204-1)
• Experience in safety design (ISO 13849-1 & 13849-2)
• Experience in fault-finding.
• Good organisation in revision control / documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Experience in commissioning systems (FAT & SAT)
• Experience in high voltage design (IEC 60204-11)
• Experience in E-Plan
• Experience in sizing capacitors.
• Experience in supervision of system builds.
• Experience in developing and trouble-shooting PLC / HMI programs.
• Proficiency in Siemens PLC / HMI programs.
• Proficiency in ladder logic
• Good organisation in coding / commenting.
