A leading company is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Engineering Department. The role involves designing special machinery, sophisticated control systems, and liaising with suppliers. Candidates must have the right to work in the UK for at least five years without sponsorship.

Job description

Our client is looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their Engineering Department, reporting to the Electrical Engineering and Automation Team Leader.

1. Conceptual and detailed design and development of special purpose machinery.
2. Design of sophisticated control systems including variable speed drives, PLC, and field bus systems.
3. Transform a written specification into a complete design, including a set of schematic drawings and a complete bill of materials within the company ERP system.
4. Design for manufacture and assembly.
5. Liaising with suppliers on bought-out components and with other departments.
6. Development of test plans and procedures.
7. Lead or support contractual and development projects to meet aggressive timescales and budgets.
8. Support the needs of associated departments (sales, service, production).
