Job summary

Wolviston Management Services Limited in Middlesbrough is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to support and develop electrical and automation systems in a heavy industrial site. You will deliver CAPEX projects, major maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives under the Plant Engineer.

Ideal candidates hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and have strong PLC/automation experience, with proven fault-finding and collaboration across Engineering and

Qualifications

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related discipline.
• Experience in heavy industrial engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of HV and LV electrical installations.
• Experience with Siemens S5/S7 PLC programming and communications systems.
• Proven fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to write clear, detailed technical specifications and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide electrical and automation engineering support to site operations.
• Manage and deliver CAPEX and major maintenance projects from conception through to completion.
• Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
• Conduct root cause analysis of significant equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing to introduce new equipment and process improvements.
• Develop technical specifications for equipment, products, and services.
• Oversee external contractors including site supervision, change management and claims resolution.
