Job summary

Apex Appoint Nottingham is recruiting an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join a well-established engineering business. You will work across PLC-controlled machinery projects, handling electrical design, control panels, build, test and commissioning in a hands-on environment.

You will mentor junior engineers and take ownership of controls-related project activity, delivering solutions on bespoke machinery from concept to completion in a collaborative team setting.

Qualifications

• PLC programming and diagnostics.
• Electrical control systems knowledge.

This is a broad, hands-on role combining controls engineering, electrical design, project delivery and technical leadership within a specialist machinery environment.

The Role

• Electrical and controls engineering across bespoke machinery projects
• PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment
• Electrical design and control panel development
• Supporting machinery build, test and commissioning
• Working closely with mechanical and project engineering teams
• Fault finding and technical problem solving
• Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced engineers where required
• Taking ownership of controls-related project activity
