Job summary

Nexperia in Manchester seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to maintain and improve site control systems and facilities infrastructure. You will work with technicians and external contractors to diagnose faults and implement improvements, interpreting control philosophies and system documentation.

The role offers strong development opportunities, exposure to diverse plant systems (HVAC, DI water, generators, CHP), and a commitment to diversity and CSR within a global electronics company.

Qualifications

  • HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with industrial control systems and facilities plant.
  • Knowledge of TREND or Echelon BMS systems is advantageous.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support site control systems and facilities infrastructure

About the role

Nexperia is a global semiconductor company whose products are used in billions of electronic devices worldwide. Our Manchester manufacturing site plays a key role in delivering innovative semiconductor solutions for automotive, industrial and consumer applications.

We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to maintain, monitor and improve site control systems supporting our manufacturing facilities. Working closely with technicians, contractors and internal stakeholders, you will provide technical expertise, fault diagnosis and support for critical facilities infrastructure.

What you will do

  • Maintain and support site control systems and facilities infrastructure
  • Work with onsite technicians and external contractors on maintenance and improvement activities
  • Support fault finding and troubleshooting across facilities systems
  • Interpret control philosophies, logic diagrams and system documentation
  • Assist with the design and optimisation of control strategies
  • Provide technical support to Facilities and other departments across the site

What you will need

Technical Experience

Knowledge of some or all of the following:

  • Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant
