iO Associates is partnering with a leading engineering firm seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to join their Controls division. This is an exciting opportunity to play a critical role in delivering cutting-edge automation solutions across various industries.
Design and program PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (SIEMENS essential; Mitsubishi beneficial)
Develop electrical distribution, motor control centres, and PLC control systems using AutoCAD
Lead projects from enquiry/concept through to detailed design, FAT/SAT, and on-site commissioning
Produce comprehensive FDS/SDS, test documents, RAMS, and O&M manuals
Attend client and sub-contractor meetings, providing technical expertise and support
Stay abreast of the latest developments in electrical engineering and control systems
Manage and deliver turnkey projects with a focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
HND/Degree (Level 4+) in Electrical Engineering or Control & Automation
Minimum 6 years' experience in controls engineering
Proficiency in SIEMENS PLC/HMI/SCADA programming
Solid AutoCAD design experience
Knowledge of BS EN 60204 and BS7671 standards
Experience in control panel/MCC design
Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to produce and manage RAMS
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive team player
Knowledge of AC/DC drives and hydraulic systems
Experience with Safety Related Control Systems (BS EN IEC 62061 or BS EN ISO 13849)
Installation and commissioning experience
Work on diverse, cutting-edge automation projects
