Job summary

GMEC Solutions Limited in South Wales seeks an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to lead the electrical engineering and maintenance division. You will source new work, prepare estimates and quotations, deliver profitable projects and manage client relationships with a hands‑on leadership style.

This is a 48‑hour per week salaried role, with a starting salary of £50,000. A company vehicle, phone, laptop, pension and private medical cover are included, along with development opportunities

Qualifications

• Proven industrial electrical engineering and maintenance experience.
• Contracts or project management experience including estimating.
• Ability to win new work and grow profitable service offering.
• Confident people manager and team lead.
• Knowledge of industrial power, control, motors, drives, and safety standards.
• Good understanding of BS 7671 and safe systems of work.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the electrical division, setting operational and workforce standards.
• Identify new customers and opportunities; secure repeat work and planned maintenance.
• Prepare site surveys, estimates, proposals and quotations; follow up enquiries to win orders.
• Manage contracts from enquiry to invoicing across planning, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Monitor costs, hours, margins and cash generation; address issues early.
• Coordinate electricians, apprentices and subcontractors across multiple sites.
• Lead, coach and develop the electrical team and ensure safety standards.
• Identify training needs and recruit to build technical competence.
• Maintain client communication and work with management team.
• Ensure RAMS, permits, testing, certification and project records are completed.
• Use GMEC CRM systems to maintain enquiries and project records.
