Job Title: Electrical Contracts Manager
Location: North Somerset
Sector: Electrical Contracting
Salary: £55,000-£60,000 + Package
Are you an experienced electrical professional ready to take ownership of a varied portfolio of projects? Whether you're already working in contracts management or looking to progress from an electrical supervisory role, this opportunity offers you the chance to combine your technical knowledge with leadership and commercial responsibility.
Walker & Sloan are recruiting an Electrical Contracts Manager for an established, family‑run electrical contractor. You'll play an important role in coordinating projects, supporting site teams and building strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
You will typically manage between five and ten projects at different stages, taking responsibility from initial planning and procurement through to completion and final account. You'll coordinate electricians and subcontractors, organise materials, monitor programmes and costs, and ensure work is delivered safely and to the required standard.
Working between the office and project sites, you will maintain regular communication with clients, main contractors and your delivery teams. Your involvement will include quotation revisions, variations, account queries and the coordination of drawings, certification and O&M information.
You will also provide practical technical support when challenges arise, using your electrical knowledge to help resolve site queries and keep projects moving. Providing clear leadership, preparing appropriate RAMS and maintaining strong health and safety standards will be central to your role.
You will ideally come from an electrician trade background, with the practical site experience needed to understand installation challenges and support the people delivering the work. Previous contracts management experience would be valuable, although you may also be an experienced electrical supervisor ready to take the next step.
You are approachable, confident and able to build rapport with colleagues at every level. You'll know how to give clear direction, earn the respect of site teams and remain calm when managing competing priorities.
You will need SMSTS, a sound understanding of health and safety, and experience preparing RAMS. Strong IT skills are also essential, including confidence using Microsoft Office and electrical certification, cable calculation and estimating software. Experience with estimating, CAD or PDF editing would be advantageous, alongside C&G 2391 or an equivalent qualification.
Additional knowledge of electrical design, fire alarms, solar PV, battery storage, air conditioning or EV charging would be beneficial.
You will join an established electrical contractor delivering domestic, commercial and industrial services across the surrounding region. With a family‑run culture and an experienced team, the business places strong value on quality workmanship, reliable service and lasting relationships.
You'll work closely with colleagues across the office and site teams, with the opportunity to make a visible contribution to project delivery and the continued development of the business.
