Job summary

Meridian are working with a growing electrical contractor in Burnley, recruiting an Electrical Contract Manager to oversee delivery and commercial elements across the UK. Office-based with site visits, you will join a small project team and manage resources, budgets and client expectations.

The role offers a 65k-70k salary (DoE), pension, company vehicle with fuel card, and an organised, expanding team environment with 40-hour weeks and flexible pattern within site hours.

Qualifications

• Electrical background with fit-out and retail project exposure.
• Commercial project experience and full lifecycle understanding.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, compliance, and Health & Safety.
• SMSTS preferred but not essential.
• Experience managing electrical trades.
• Strong commercial awareness with costing, forecasting and reporting skills.
• Experience managing labour, subcontractors and supply chain performance.
• Strong client-facing skills and ability to resolve issues.
• Design and pre-con construction experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver full project delivery of commercial electrical contracts.
• Meet contractual requirements, KPIs and response times.
• Plan and manage resources, materials, budgets and onsite workers.
• Communicate clearly with onsite management and office staff to resolve issues.
• Work with commercial and project teams to maximise contract value.
• Ensure compliance with H&S, RAMS and reporting at all stages.
• Maintain accurate job costing, forecasting and progress reports.

Electrical Contract Manager

Meridian are working with a growing Electrical contractor based in Burnley that specialise in commercial fit-out projects, winning lots of retail projects with major names and upcoming work already secured. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Contract Manager to supplement the project delivery side. You will be joining a small project team, where your focus will initially be on helping to manage project delivery and commercial elements of various projects across the UK. Requirements for this role:

• Electrical background required, ideally within fit-out and retail projects
• Commercial project experience with a full understanding of project lifecycles from cradle to grave
• Up to date knowledge of industry standards, compliance, contract forms, and Health & Safety is essential
• SMSTS not essential, but is preferred
• Experience managing Electrical trades, e.g Apprentices, Electricians, Electrical Testers, and Supervisors
• Strong commercial awareness and financial control skills (costing, forecasting, reporting)
• Experience managing labour, subcontractors, and supply chain performance
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to manage expectations and resolve issues
• Experience in design and pre-con is not essential but would be a bonus

Duties include (but are not exclusive to):

• Full project delivery of commercial electrical contracts
• Deliver works in line with contractual requirements, KPIs, and response times
• Plan and manage resources, materials, budgets, and onsite workers effectively
• Problem-solve when there are potential issues onsite by communicating clearly with onsite management and office staff
• Work with the other members of the commercial and project team to identify, price, and deliver maximise contract value
• Consistently ensure compliance with H&S, compliance reports, and RAMS at all stages of project lifecycles
• Work closely with the commercial team to remain accurate on job costing, forecasting, and progress reports
