Equans UK & Ireland seeks an Assistant Electrical Technical Manager for Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth, on a permanent, full-time basis (37.5 hours/week). The role centers on electrical inspection, testing, certification and compliance across the hospital estate to keep LV systems safe and compliant.

You will support the Technical Manager in maintaining HV/LV infrastructure, carry out HTM-aligned inspections, and develop professional qualifications (e.g., Authorised Person LV/HV, IOSH).

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering

Responsabilités

• Plan periodic inspection and testing of LV installations across the hospital estate.
• Produce EICRs, Minor Works Certificates and Electrical Installation Certificates.
• Maintain inspection/test records and ensure statutory compliance documentation.
• Support 24-hour maintenance service and site life-cycle plans.
• Provide technical support for HV and LV distribution systems.
• Review risk assessments and permits to work with contractors.
• Ensure safe systems of work in line with HTMs and regulations.
• Work in areas occupied by patients, staff and visitors with due regard to safety.
