Job summary

ACS Recruitment Solutions Ltd in Northampton is seeking an experienced Electrical Biased Maintenance Engineer to join a regulated manufacturing business. You will maintain high-speed production machinery and contribute to continuous improvement within a modern facility.

The role requires time-served electrical engineering with an apprenticeship and at least 3 years post-apprenticeship maintenance experience, with strong PLC, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics knowledge.

Qualifications

• Time-served Electrical Engineer with a recognised apprenticeship.
• Minimum of 3 years' post-apprenticeship maintenance experience.
• Strong multi-skilled engineering background.
• Experience within a regulated or high-speed manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge of PLCs, automation, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns with fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Maintain and repair PLC-controlled, high-speed production and packaging machinery.
• Work on equipment including industrial ovens, microwaves, HV transformers, slicers, sealers, metal detectors, and refrigeration systems.
• Support equipment optimisation, machine start-ups, and performance monitoring.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
• Complete detailed shift handovers and engineering reports.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior engineers as required.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, food safety, and company procedures.

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum

Shift Patterns: Days: 6:00am - 6:00pm 4 on / 4 off; Nights: 9:00pm - 6:00am Sunday - Thursday.
