Job summary

CV Technical is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical bias) in North Yorkshire to maintain production machinery and site services, maximise uptime and reliability.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults on motors, drives, sensors, inverters and PLCs, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role offers a 3-shift pattern and a competitive salary up to £56,000 with excellent benefits.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
  • Experience in maintenance within manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, recycling or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong fault-finding on motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control systems.
  • Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar).
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Diagnosing and fault finding on electrical control systems and production equipment.
  • Working with PLC-controlled machinery and electrical automation systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve plant performance.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.

The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production machinery and site services, ensuring maximum uptime and equipment reliability.

The Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • A recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
  • Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, recycling or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills with experience on motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar would be advantageous).
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
