Job summary

Whitchurch-based Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer role offering £49,683 basic with OTE £55,000+ on a Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern. You'll maintain and improve site equipment, perform reactive and preventative maintenance, and work within a supportive engineering team.

Qualifications

  • A recognised Electrical Qualification.
  • Experience carrying out electrical fault finding.
  • Knowledge of 3-phase systems and control panels.
  • Previous experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider engineering team.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Responding to reactive maintenance breakdowns quickly and effectively.
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance activities across site.
  • Diagnosing and fault-finding on electrical and electro‑mechanical equipment.
  • Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and site improvement projects.
  • Completing electrical installation work in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Updating maintenance records through CMMS.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and sharing technical knowledge with colleagues.
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit‑to‑work systems where required.

Average 42.5 Hours Per Week

The Role

As an Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and improving site equipment, helping to minimise downtime and ensure production targets are achieved.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to reactive maintenance breakdowns quickly and effectively.
  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance activities across site.
  • Diagnosing and fault-finding on a variety of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and site improvement projects.
  • Completing electrical installation work in line with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Updating maintenance records through the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and sharing technical knowledge with colleagues.
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and permit-to-work systems where required.
