Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. in York, England, United Kingdom, is seeking an Electrical Bias Engineer to install, maintain and diagnose plant and equipment, ensuring faults are rectified swiftly. The role covers power, UPS, CPS, distribution and cooling in data centres and critical environments.

The successful candidate will work on breakdown maintenance, emergency standby, and ensure maintenance documentation is up to date, with a willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with building management systems including fault finding and operator use.
• Experience with VAV systems, FCU systems, passive and active chilled water circuits and chilled beams.
• Experience and understanding of HVAC systems.
• Understanding of a CDM process.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills at all levels.
• Evidence of excellent customer service delivery.
• Able to organise self to manage assigned tasks and determine material requirements.
• Experience of H&S procedures & requirements (COSHH, Working at Heights, Risk Assessment).
• IOSH and/or NEBOSH qualifications.
• Testing and Inspection of Electrical systems.
• Knowledge of emergency response/standby/call out activities and protocols.
• Be or have been an Authorised Person (AP15/12).

Responsibilities

• React to breakdown maintenance requests within the required SLAs.
• Technical awareness of computer room/call centre/trader operations and power, UPS, CPS, distribution, cooling.
• Repairs to modular UPS systems.
• Test and diagnose power quality issues using on-site power analysers.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation & records.
• Provide emergency response standby and call out support.
• Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
• Monitor environmental conditions and critical equipment regularly.
• Ensure completion of reactive Helpdesk requests.
• Enter quotes and remedial works into the in-house system.
