About CBRE Global Workplace Solutions: We provide integrated facilities and corporate real estate management services. We are currently recruiting an Electrical Bias Engineer to join our team.
Role Summary:
- Respond to breakdown maintenance requests within SLA requirements.
- Possess technical awareness of data center operations, including power systems, UPS, CPS, distribution, and cooling.
- Perform repairs on modular UPS systems.
- Test and diagnose power quality issues, including harmonic distortion, using onsite analyzers.
- Apply a risk-focused maintenance approach in critical environments.
- Provide emergency standby and call-out support.
- Escalate urgent issues to the Technical Services Manager.
- Respond appropriately to outages or emergencies.
- Maintain up-to-date critical engineering maintenance documentation.
- Advise Facilities Management on changes in critical environment requirements.
- Work beyond contractual hours as needed.
- Conduct site surveys, produce Work Requests, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
- Undertake upgrades and installations.
- Interpret technical drawings, instructions, and O&M manuals.
- Complete all reactive helpdesk requests efficiently.
- Monitor environmental conditions and review the performance of critical equipment.
- Adhere to financial procedures.
- Draft incident reports within 24 hours of abnormal system incidents, analyzing root causes and corrective actions.
- Ensure all actions are documented and reviewed.
- Record relevant quotes and remedial works in the system.
Experience Required:
Essential
- 17th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations
Desirable
- Experience with building management systems and fault finding.
- Knowledge of VAV, FCU systems, chilled water circuits, and chilled beams.
- Understanding of HVAC systems.
- Familiarity with CDM processes.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Customer service excellence.
- Organizational skills to manage tasks and material requirements.
- Knowledge of H&S procedures, COSHH, Working at Heights, and Risk Assessments.
- Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Experience in testing and inspecting electrical systems.
- Understanding of emergency response protocols.
- Monitoring utilities and environmental programs.
- Authorized Person status (e.g., AP15/12).
- Water hygiene L8 certification.
