Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Electrical Bias Building Services Engineer to join their mobile team covering Basingstoke to Southampton. The role blends electrical expertise with general M&E maintenance, offering stability, career development, and a supportive culture.

Key tasks include servicing BMS front-end systems, conducting PPMs, fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems, and providing on-site client-facing service. On-call rota is 1 in 4 weeks with travel paid door to door.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Maintenance is required.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations knowledge is essential.
• 2391 Test & Inspect certification preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain BMS front-end systems.
• Carry out PPM on electrical systems and mechanical plant.
• Diagnose and repair faults on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Perform on-site M&E maintenance tasks including emergency lighting tests, water temp monitoring, AHU/FCU maintenance, minor plumbing.
• Provide excellent client-facing service during on-call rotations (1 in 4 weeks) and travel door-to-door.

A leading Mechanical & Electrical contractor with a strong family culture is seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Building Services Engineer to join their mobile team. This is a varied role combining electrical expertise with general M&E maintenance, offering stability, career development, and the opportunity to work with a well-respected business.

Key Responsibilities

• Service and maintain BMS front-end systems
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and mechanical plant
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical and mechanical systems
• Undertake general M&E maintenance tasks, including:
  • Emergency lighting tests
  • Water temperature monitoring
  • AHU and FCU maintenance
  • Minor plumbing repairs
• Reactive maintenance? Provide excellent client-facing service, maintaining strong on-site relationships
• Participate in on-call rota (1 in 4 weeks) – travel time paid door to door

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• 2391 Test & Inspect certification
• Proven experience in PPM, fault finding, and repairs on both electrical and mechanical systems
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Computer literacy (experience with Simpro or Verisae advantageous)
• Based within a commutable distance of Southampton
