Job summary

ABS Bureau in the United Kingdom is seeking an Electrical, Automation and Cyber Engineer to perform engineering design review and analysis on major projects. The role requires applying conventional engineering knowledge to complex problems and developing a thorough understanding of ABS policies, methods and procedures.

You will work with minimal supervision to review plans for compliance, advise field operations, coordinate with other disciplines and draft timely reports.

Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical/Marine Engineering with specialization in electrical systems.
  • Masters / PhD graduates encouraged.
  • Knowledge of design and installation of LV and HV systems (e.g. Generators, Switchboards, electric motors, frequency drives).
  • Installation of electrical equipment in hazardous areas.

Responsibilities

  • Performs detailed engineering review of plans for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments.
  • Offers technical advice to field operations and other technical offices.
  • Resolves conventional engineering problems and coordinates with other disciplines.
  • Proposes new approaches to problems and recommends changes in methods or designs.
  • Drafts technically accurate reports and responses to letters and communications.
  • Interacts with clients to identify and resolve problems in technical areas.
  • Prepares weekly reports and billing on all work performed.
