Skilled Careers in London is seeking an Associate Director to lead building services engineering projects with a focus on sustainability, people and communities. You will be a technical leader and client ambassador, guiding design across HVAC, electrical, plumbing and renewables while meeting regulatory standards.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage budgets and timelines, develop new business, and collaborate with our UK offices on strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• A degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• CEng and Member of CIBSE, or equivalent.
• Experience leading net zero, PassivHaus and low carbon projects.
• Excellent design experience in a commercial environment.
• Proven track record in design and project delivery across different M&E systems and building types.
• Ability to present to and advise clients on engineering issues including concept and detailed design.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Attention to detail, teamwork, interpersonal skills and time management.
• Growing industry network at project level.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from inception to completion while meeting sustainability targets, timelines, budgets and specifications.
• Design building services systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and renewables per UK regulations and best practice.
• Provide expert technical guidance to the team and promote innovative solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review designs, calculations and documentation to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Act as the main contact for clients and stakeholders, building relationships and ensuring project expectations are met.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and project teams.
• Contribute to project budgets and monitor financials, taking corrective action when needed.
• Drive business development, networking and bid writing with a focus on delivery projects.
• Present externally on industry-leading work and research.
• Work with senior leadership on strategic objectives including new technologies and process improvements.
• Participate in internal academy sessions and CPD opportunities.
