Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking an Electrical Asset Technician to cover Colchester, Halstead, Sudbury, Braintree and surrounding areas. Permanent, full-time (37 hours p/w) with flexibility for part-time. Includes company van, tools and PPE, plus private health care and a comprehensive pension.

You’ll wire, install, maintain and control electrical equipment for water treatment and distribution, with opportunities for training and progression within a growing team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds electrical qualification (or equivalent), 18th Edition, AM2 or JIB Gold Card, or completed Electrical apprenticeship.
• Full UK driving licence essential.
• Experience in inspections, maintenance and fault diagnosis on large pumps, actuated valves, VSD and 3‑phase switchgear.
• Strong health & safety focus.
• Ability to work standby and overtime as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Wiring, installing, maintaining and controlling electrical equipment to treat and distribute water.
• Calibrating and maintaining technical analytical equipment.
• Investigate asset trends and carry out electrical interventions.
• Assist electrical framework contractors and internal high voltage, optimisation and automation teams.
• Utilise electrical drawings to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• React to technical issues to maintain water supply.

Key responsibilities:

What does it take to be an Electrical Asset Technician?

• An NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds electrical qualification (or equivalent), 18th Edition, AM2 or Jib Gold Card, or equivalent or have completed a full Electrical apprenticeship
• A full UK driving licence is also essential.
• You will have demonstrable experience in completing inspections, maintenance and fault diagnosis, being competent undertaking repairs to large pumps, actuated valves, VSD and 3-phase electrical switchgear.
• Strong health & safety focus
• Ability to work standby-by and overtime as necessary

As well as carrying out planned & reactive maintenance on our electrical assets, you will work towards a Licence to Operate Qualification to enable you to operate and maintain water treatment assets and processes.
