Job Description:

Overview

JBT currently has a great opportunity for an Electrical Assembly Technician to join the Proseal team in Cheshire. You will work within a team to wire, build, and test machinery intended for the food industry. You will be part of a team of 29 technicians within the electrical department and will report to our Electrical Manager. Your collaboration with mechanical assembly and quality departments is essential. We seek someone experienced in reading engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs. The role is primarily based on-site in Adlington, Cheshire, with potential travel to customer sites for installations and support.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Wire panel back-plates, doors, etc., from circuit diagrams and panel layouts.
• Ensure high standards of electrical build quality.
• Electromechanical installation of control cubicle and field components.
• Terminate and secure external cabling correctly.
• Install PLC & HMI programs.
• Perform earth continuity, insulation, and pre-delivery testing.
• Provide remote and on-site support for breakdowns and commissioning.
• Conduct operator and technical training at client sites or at Proseal.
• Perform on-call and service duties as per rota.
• Maintain a clean and tidy workshop environment.
• Work outside normal hours as required, domestically and internationally.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Time-served electrician with industrial control wiring and fault-finding experience.
• 18th Edition certification.
• Experience with PLCs, servo drives, and AC inverters.
• Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license.
