Job Description:

The Recruitment Group is working with a company in Stockport seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to wire, build, and test machinery for the food industry. The role involves working in the electrical department under the supervision of the electrical manager.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  • Wire panel back-plates, doors, etc., from circuit diagrams and panel layouts.
  • Ensure high standards of electrical build quality.
  • Electromechanical installation of control cubicle and field components.
  • Terminate and secure external cabling correctly.
  • Install PLC & HMI programs.
  • Perform earth continuity, insulation, and pre-delivery testing.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for breakdowns and commissioning.
  • Conduct operator and technical training at client sites.
  • Participate in on-call and service duties as scheduled.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the workshop daily.
  • Work outside normal hours when required, both in the UK and overseas.
Experience and knowledge requirements:
  • Time-served electrician with experience in industrial control wiring and fault finding.
  • 18th Edition certification.
  • Experience with PLCs, servo drives, and AC inverters.
  • Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
  • Valid driver's license.
