Job summary

Electrical Assembly Technician

Near Bungay Up to £36,000 Permanent

This is bespoke automation.

You ll be wiring machinery from electrical schematics, testing systems, tracing faults, working with pneumatics and helping get finished equipment up and running at customer sites in the UK and overseas.

You build it. You wire it. You test it. You help bring it to life.

The Role

You ll be part of the team building bespoke automated machinery from the ground up.

Taking electrical schematics and drawings, you ll turn them into working systems. You ll be involved throughout the electrical build, working alongside the wider engineering team to make sure machinery is assembled, wired, tested and ready to go.

And your involvement doesn t necessarily finish when the machine leaves the workshop.

You ll also support installations at customer sites in the UK and overseas, giving you the chance to see the equipment you ve helped build operating in the real world.

What You ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day will cover a good mix of electrical assembly, wiring, testing and fault finding.

You ll install electrical components and wiring from schematic diagrams, prepare cable routes and support systems, and work with pneumatic components and pipework.

Once a build is coming together, you ll carry out pre-commissioning checks and testing, identify any faults or problems and make the necessary repairs or corrections.

There ll also be opportunities to get out of the workshop and support machinery installations at customer premises in the UK and overseas.

In short, you re not being brought in to do one tiny part of the process. You ll get your hands on much more of the machine.

What They re Looking For

They re not looking for somebody who just knows the theory.

They need someone with proper hands-on electrical fitting, assembly or wiring experience who is comfortable getting stuck into a machine build.

You ll need to be confident reading electrical schematics, using electrical and hand tools, testing your own work and fault finding when something isn t right.

Experience aroundautomation, industrial machinery or manufacturing equipment would be particularly relevant, along with experience working with pneumatic systems and drawings.

A relevant electrical qualification, vocational training or apprenticeship background is expected.

You ll also need to be comfortable with UK and overseas travel when required.
