Job summary

Mane Contract Services is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to build electrical systems and sub-assemblies for complex machinery. You will read schematics, wire panels, and ensure compliance with ISO quality standards.

The role involves mentoring junior technicians, maintaining 5S cleanliness, and actively contributing to continuous improvement. A rotating shift pattern is provided, with early, afternoon, and changing Friday hours.

Qualifications

  • Experience building electrical systems for complex machinery.
  • Strong wiring experience and panel building.
  • Able to read electrical schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and parts to quality/ISO standards.
  • Ensure BOM and customer specifications are met.
  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently.
  • Report technical issues via FRACAS.
  • Maintain technical competence through training.
  • Provide build sequence guidance to the team.
  • Mentor and train junior technicians.
  • Promote high standards of cleanliness, health & safety (5S).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and production performance.
  • Follow rotating shift schedule.

Job description

About the Company:

A global manufacturing business with 4 manufacturing sites across the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build systems, sub-assemblies and piece parts for complex systems to required quality and ISO standards

  • Ensure BOM and customer specification requirements are met

  • Identify and resolve build issues efficiently

  • Report technical issues via the FRACAS process

  • Maintain technical competence through ongoing training

  • Provide build sequence guidance and support to the team

  • Mentor and train junior technicians

  • Promote high standards of build cleanliness, housekeeping, and health & safety (including supporting 5S initiatives)

  • Contribute to continuous improvement and production team performance

  • Work in accordance with the rotating shift schedule provided by the Team Leader
Essential Requirements:

  • Experience building electrical systems, ideally for complex/special-purpose machinery

  • Strong background in electrical wiring, including panel building

  • Able to read and interpret electrical schematics

  • Hands-on experience with:

  • Control panels

  • MCBs, contactors, relays

  • Inverter drives and PLCs

  • Cable crimping, soldering, and termination

  • Excellent attention to detail and fault-finding ability

  • Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship
  • 16th/17th Edition Electrical qualification
  • HNC/HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • City & Guilds in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

  • Early: 06:00 - 14:00 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Afternoon: 14:00 - 22:00 (Mon-Thurs)
  • Friday: 06:00 - 11:00 and 11:00 - 16:00
