Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) in Reading, United Kingdom, is offering an Electrical Application Engineer Intern role. You will gain hands‑on experience with power systems, automation, communications and cybersecurity technologies in real test environments.

The internship targets MSc students in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, who have completed taught modules and are in an Industrial Placement year, with a university placement agreement between SEL and the institution.

Qualifications

• Pursuing MSc in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and currently in Industrial Placement year.
• Must have completed the taught modules of the MSc programme and be in an Industrial Placement/Industrial Practice year.
• An internship agreement between SEL and the educational institution is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for automation, control, communication / cybersecurity laboratory testing
• Perform testing on existing and new technologies
• Document test bed activities and results
• Support Sales, Customer Service, and Product Development activities
• Collaborate with application engineers to develop best‑practice application guides for SEL technology, delivering secure and compliant solutions

• Provide support for automation, control, communication / cybersecurity laboratory testing
• Perform testing on existing and new technologies
