Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical or instrumentation.

We generate enough energy from waste to power around 80,000 homes annually and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres. This success is thanks to our dedicated team, who make a real difference every day.

About the role

We are recruiting two positions. As the E&I Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment across our sites in North London, ensuring minimal downtime and machine breakdowns by implementing effective PPM processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide efficient breakdown repair services by diagnosing faults and performing effective repairs promptly.
  • Implement PPM on electrical and instrumentation equipment to minimize breakdowns and reduce lead times.
  • Carry out installation work to required standards.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
  • Liaise with outside contractors for repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure statutory obligations are continuously met.
  • Work within shift patterns, including nights and days, and be available on call for emergencies.

Additional Details:

  • Salary: £52,188.23 + 30% Shift Allowance
  • Location: Edmonton, London

Requirements

Candidates should possess:

  • NVQ Level 3 or a Trade Certificate
  • Electrical experience in heavy industrial environments (e.g., power stations)
  • Experience working on large-scale installations and PPM
  • Analysis and repair skills for pneumatic systems
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment (preferably Allen Bradley)
  • Knowledge of variable speed drives
  • A logical, systematic approach to fault-finding, including working from electrical drawings
