Qualifications

  • Must have NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in heavy-duty industrial environments is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Implement PPM on electrical and instrumentation equipment to minimize breakdowns.

Job Title: Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
  • Type: Full Time, Permanent
  • Salary: £52,188.23 + 30% Shift Allowance

About the role

We are recruiting two positions for the E&I Maintenance Technician. You will be responsible for maintaining electrical and instrumentation equipment across various sites in North London, ensuring minimal downtime and machine breakdowns by implementing effective PPM processes.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide efficient breakdown repair services, diagnosing faults and conducting effective repairs promptly.
  2. Implement PPM on electrical and instrumentation equipment to minimize breakdowns and reduce lead times.
  3. Carry out installation work to required standards.
  4. Complete routine inspections and undertake preventative maintenance to keep equipment in good condition.
  5. Liaise with outside contractors for specific repairs and maintenance.
  6. Ensure all statutory obligations are continuously met.
  7. Work within shift patterns, including nights and days, and be available for 'on call' emergencies.
Candidate requirements
  • NVQ Level 3 or Trade Certificate.
  • Electrical experience in heavy-duty industrial environments, e.g., power stations.
  • Experience working on large-scale installations and PPM work.
  • Experience in analysis and repair of pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment (preferably Allen Bradley).
  • Experience with variable speed drives.
  • Strong fault-finding skills with technical experience in repair, installation, and PPM in heavy process industries, including working with electrical drawings.
