Job summary

Adur & Worthing Councils in Worthing are seeking a dedicated Electoral Services officer on a 30-hour week hybrid contract. You will help keep the electoral registers up to date and assist in the planning and execution of local and national elections.

We value a team player with good IT skills, attention to detail, and the ability to perform under pressure. The role requires occasional extended hours during elections and a commitment to public service.

Qualifications

  • Experience in electoral registration or similar civic admin.
  • Strong IT skills with ability to learn quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Willingness to work extended hours during elections.

Responsibilities

  • Keep electoral registers up to date and assist planning and execution of elections.
  • Work extended hours during election period, including weekends/bank holidays.
  • Work at Worthing Town Hall during election period.

Duties of the post

In this career graded role, you will play a key role in making sure the electoral registers are up to date and contribute to the planning and execution of all local and national elections.

  • Hours; you will be expected to work extended hours during the election period, including some weekends and bank holidays.
  • Place of work, during the election period; you will be expected to work at the Town Hall, Worthing.
What we are looking for

We are seeking a genuine team player, with a passion for delivering democracy, enabling all voters to cast their vote, who wishes to advance their career in this field.

If you have a working knowledge of electoral registration, good IT skill, can learn quickly and independently, have excellent attention to detail and cope well in a high pressure environment you may be the person we are looking for.
